sports

Just was wondering why the sports team that I root for fail miserably always...

Indian cricket team - I got used to losing more than winning right from the time I was a kid. Watching India's matches is so depressing. India is pathetic in other games like hockey, soccer... I can't understand how can such a big country can't even play one game right.

Clemson Football - Charlie Whitehurst is an idiot. The tiger brigade is in the dumps... The fortunes of this teams pains me the most because its my alma mater. I still spend 3 hrs everyweekend watching them make a fool of themselves.

Atlanta Braves - Chipper Jones and Co can win 15 straight division title and with the same consistency lose in the playoffs... I dont think I will ever see them in the world series.

Atlanta Hawks - Now this team is a joke. I am better off not watching them at all.

Atlanta Falcons - Right now they are doing pretty decent but have a long way to go before they are considered serious candidates for the superbowl.

Thinking abt this I was wondering if it makes sense to watch sports at all because more teams lose than win. Only 1 team can win the championship and at the end of the season more ppl are sad abt their team not winning the championship than those happy abt their team winning it.

just our luck Dsou. Why are the teams we support so schizophrenic? I don't mind "my" teams losing, just that they lose like chumps to teams they have no business losing to.

BTW - did you know India lost to Pakistan in Asian Games Kabaddi?

India needs Money, Transparency and Leadership to bring sports to a much greater level. Contribute something valuable rather than being such a pathetic fan! Haa! Half your teams are Atlanta teams. Thats a depressing city, anyway.

I am a sports fan not a fanatic. I root for good teams out there (UNC, New England patriots, San Antonio spurs, australian cricket team). Who knows in which city I'll land up next? Not Atlanta, that's for sure!

BTW, you are getting too picky about Raleigh! You better watch out buddy cuz we'll beat the a** out of you as soon as you land RDU. :)

Correction DSou, NYC is the most happening city in the world.

I don't mean to be rude, but I know one team from Raleigh that sucks... the Wolfpack! Besides all the Atlanta teams, including the Braves.

I'd say the Indian team's done a fairly decent job of its ODIs of late. The mis-steps happening now will sure go a long way in hardening the MiB for 2007 in the Windies.
And oh yes, the Tigers have done well enough to beat FSU and the Gamecocks!
Atlanta teams - no comments, they've been lousy since time immemorial (the 1995? World Series notwithstanding!).
With all due respect to Vipul, I have a gut feeling that he supports only the 'happening' teams (much like a lot of people claim to be diehard Schumi fans!).
